The Complete Tanzania
Where the wild meets the human story. Most safaris show you Tanzania’s wildlife. This one shows you its soul.
The Complete Tanzania is the itinerary we are most proud of — and the one our travellers remember longest. It weaves together the region’s greatest natural spectacles with a rare, unhurried encounter at Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe, one of the last hunter-gatherer communities on earth, and the Datoga, master craftsmen and herdsmen of the Rift Valley. Where other operators treat cultural visits as a brief stop or an optional add-on, we build our whole journey around them. From the elephant plains of Tarangire to the crater floor of Ngorongoro, from the silence of Eyasi at dawn to the theatre of the Serengeti at sunset — this is northern Tanzania in full.

Day 1 – Arrival in Arusha
AYour driver-guide meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport. Transfer to your accommodation in Arusha. Evening briefing — an introduction to the people, landscapes and wildlife you are about to encounter.
Overnight in Arusha.
Day 2 – Tarangire National Park
An early start for Tarangire — a park whose scale and character surprise almost every visitor who expected the Serengeti to be the highlight. Vast elephant herds move between ancient baobabs and the seasonal river; predators follow. Spend a full day absorbing one of Tanzania’s most rewarding parks before continuing to your overnight near Tarangire.
Dinner and night in a confortable lodge
Day 3 – Lake Eyasi – The Datoga
Drive to the shores of Lake Eyasi, set in the Rift Valley south of the Ngorongoro highlands. This is a landscape unchanged for millennia — dusty acacia bush, a vast alkaline lake, the distant outline of the escarpment.
In the afternoon, visit a Datoga village. Watch a blacksmith at work, share moments with families and visit their village.
Dinner and night in Lake Eaysi
Day 4 – Lake Eyasi – The Hadzabe
Dawn with the Hadzabe hunters. You accompany a small group into the bush before sunrise — tracking, using traditional bows, identifying edible plants. Meet all the tribe in their village and discover their unique way of living. The encounter is conducted with full respect for local customs and at the community’s own pace.
Dinner and night in Lake Eyasi
Day 5 – Eyasi to Ngorongoro
A morning at leisure on the lake shore — photographs, a final walk, quiet reflection — before the drive north toward the Ngorongoro highlands. The landscape shifts dramatically as you climb: from the dry Rift Valley floor through highland forest to the crater rim. The view, when it comes, is overwhelming.
Dinner and night at Ngorongoro

Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater
A full day inside the crater. Descend at dawn as the mist clears from the crater floor — a theatrical entrance into one of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife habitats : ions napping in the sun, elephant bulls moving in slow procession, hippos wallowing in the central lake, vast herds of wildebeest and zebra on the open grassland.
Dinner and night at Ngorongoro
Day 7 – Into the Serengeti
Cross the Ngorongoro highlands and descend into the Serengeti. The transition is one of Africa’s great landscape moments: the world opens, the horizon retreats, and the scale of the ecosystem becomes visceral. Game drive en route, with wildlife encounters all afternoon.
Dinner and Night in Serengeti
Day 8 – The Serengeti & Departure
A final morning on the plains — your last hours with the lions, the herds, the light. Your guide will find the best of what the Serengeti is offering today. Then the long, quiet drive back to Arusha, carrying everything you have seen and the people you have met. Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport.
