This itinerary was built around the conviction that the most powerful wildlife encounters happen when you meet the bush on its own terms — on foot, at ground level, reading the same tracks and smells and sounds that the animals read. It combines the only two walking safari opportunities in northern Tanzania with a Lake Eyasi cultural encounter and the classic parks of Tarangire and Ngorongoro.
Day 1 – Arusha National Park — Walking Safari
Accompanied by an armed ranger, you explore the park’s extraordinary habitat variety — highland montane forest, open savanna and the flamingo-fringed Momella Lakes — entirely on foot.

Day 2 – Tarangire National Park
A full-day game drive in the park to discover all wildlife and enjoy landscapes. Tarangire National Park is famous for its abundant elephant herds and ancient baobab trees.

Day 3 – Lake Eyasi — Hadzabe
Drive to Lake Eyasi. Afternoon first contact with your Hadzabe guide. Evening at the lake shore

Day 4 – Dawn Hunt with the Hadzabe
Before sunrise: out with the Hadzabe hunters. The Hadzabe are the original walking safari — they move through this landscape on foot every day of their lives, reading signs that take years to learn. Return by mid-morning and drive north to the Ngorongoro highlands

Day 5 – Ngorongoro Crater
Full-day descent into the Ngorongoro Crater by vehicle — the Big Five, the black rhino, 25,000 animals in one extraordinary enclosed world

Day 6 – Into the Serengeti — Walking Zone
Drive west into the Serengeti. Afternoon: walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger. The Serengeti on foot is a completely different experience from the same landscape through a car window

Day 7 – Full Day in the Serengeti & Return to Arusha
Final dawn game drive on the Serengeti plains. Drive back to Arusha. Transfer to the airport
